Job Description

The Process Operator Technician will be responsible for the manufacturing and handling of raw materials and/or finished products at the plant. A successful applicant will be responsible for safely operating equipment in the assigned area while maintaining a high degree of quality for our products and working as efficiently as possible for our continuous operation facilities.

Core Responsibilities :
  • Actively promote a work environment where the level of knowledge within all departments, relative to safety, Efficiency, and Good Manufacturing Practices, along with related regulations and policies is developed and maintained.
  • Operate sterilization/pasteurization and processing equipment, monitor production and CIP processes to ensure there are no interruptions during any processes including priming lines and sending product, monitoring flow rates and pump speeds, regen differential pressures, validating concentration levels of chemicals, validating rinse water samples and allergen production precautions
  • Coordinate/perform configuration of hold tubes and flow boards + configure settings for pasteurization (divert temperatures, process heat temperatures)
  • Help to coordinate the setup, cleaning, and verification of preparedness of all pertinent equipment relevant to production present and upcoming.
  • Oversee batchers and guide/assist as necessary and ensure SOP’s are followed before releasing the batch.
  • Maintain event logs and charts, batch documentation, cleaning procedures, inventoried items.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and adjustment of the process.
  • Provide support for the Quality Department for in-process testing, to ensure that products are both safe and of uniform quality. Ensure that good manufacturing practices are followed, and the product meets customer specifications.
  • Work closely with maintenance team to problem solve or improve processes and procedures. Identify opportunities for improvement; mitigate the impact of unexpected maintenance issues while batching or mixing, develop appropriate recommendations, implement action plans, and follow up to assure effective results.
  • Understand and integrate business and technical needs into all activities.
  • Work and communicate with fillers/ operators to ensure all SOP’s are being followed and that any manual override or error is corrected.
  • Working extremely closely with supervisor and operators and all stakeholders to get the product to spec (i.e Homogenizer, A-tank, etc..)
  • Monitor infeed/outfeed pressures for filters and UV Intensifies for UV lines + replacement of filters as required"
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree - Electromechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a process operator technician within food and beverage industry, alcohol products experience is an asset
  • Experience in coaching and training process technicians is an asset.
  • Leadership, critical thinking and attention to details.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to manage an important function in a complex plant environment, including strong conceptual, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High degree of sound judgment, resourcefulness, initiative, and innovation in handling complex technical assignments with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a safe working environment, including a working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety or applicable provincial legislation.
  • Knowledge of Computer Control System
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Hourly Wage : $27.00

Schedule:

Shift A : Monday to Wednesday : 12 hours 7am to 7:30pm

Thursday : 6 hours shift 7am to 1:30pm

Shift B : Monday to Wednesday 12 hours 7pm to 7:30am

Thursday : 6 hours shift 1pm to 7:30pm

Shift C : Friday to Sunday : 12 hours 7am to 7:30pm

Thursday : 6 hours shift 1pm to 7:30pm

Shift D : Friday to Sunday : 12 hours 7pm to 7:30am

Thursday : 6 hours shift 1am to 7:30am
