Job Summary: Working in conjunction with radiology leadership (Radiology Chief and Director) and under guidance of a PACS Administrator II, provides operation management of imaging informatics platforms to meet local facility operational objectives and referring physicians expectations of receipt of diagnosis. Responsible for systems data management and integrity of Radiology PACS systems including worklist management, data reconciliation, monitoring performance of PACS components to support 24/7 Radiology operations. Maintain system workflow and standards that adhere to Regional guidelines. Essential Responsibilities: Demonstrated experience in computer and informational data systems required, preferably in a health care environment. Must be able to write action plans for project implementation and long term planning. Responsible for the planning, installation, testing, and operational support of digital imaging (PACS) and ancillary systems. Including operating systems, networking, software, and system administration to support the radiology department. Coordinates and participates in after hour call to provide technical support. Provides guidance and support for subordinate staff as needed. Supports the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard relating to systems operations. Knowledge of HL7 standard in exchange, integration, sharing and retrieval of electronic health information especially as it relates to patient registration and reporting in a PACS environment. Must possess the ability to analyze and monitor system performance and make proacitve recommendations for improving systems performance and stability. Responsible for working in collaboration with KP-IT, KPHC and Biomedical Engineering in the planning, installation, execution, maintenance and support of PACS-related or PACS-impacted local projects. Accountable for implementing and administering Northern California Regional Medical Image policies and procedures as it relates to the PACS systems goals and objectives. Accountable for establishing changes in workflow, communicating changes and providing quality assurance checks to ensure that standard practices are followed. Performs audits, gathers statistics and prepares reports for management and quality improvement for Radiology systems. Remotely troubleshoots and repairs PACS software related problems or issues upon request for areas of responsibility for potentially multiple facilities as defined by their scope of practice. Responsible for detailed quality data integrity and management for QA and local PACS reconciliations. Responsible for local system support and training for local processes and implementation of software upgrades and peripheral installations per Regional guidelines. Secondary Functions: Rotational on-call 24x7 for sub-region PACS. Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum three (3) years of experience in business, organizational development, informatics or technology related fields required. Education High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration N/A Additional Requirements: Strong positive, interpersonal working skills and strong proven motivational and leadership skills required. Ability to work under pressure or stressful situations without compromising the needed concentration for attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Experience in providing training implementation and troubleshooting of technical systems (software and hardware). Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: PACS Experience Voice Recognition software and hardware experience preferred. Preferred experience in administrative operations with a healthcare environment.
