As a Machinist Level 4 here at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our machining processes run efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards, while optimizing production schedules. You will report directly to our Machine Shop Manager and you’ll work out of our Columbus, OH location. In this role, you will impact the future of Honeywell by maintaining and improving our manufacturing operations to increase savings and better serve our customers.

2nd shift (3:45pm- 12:15am)

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled machinists, programmers, and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaboration.
• Efficiently allocate and manage resources, including machinery, manpower, and materials, to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure that all manufactured parts meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.
• Develop production schedules, set priorities, and monitor workflow to optimize machine shop productivity and meet customer demands.
• Oversee machine maintenance and repair schedules to ensure that all equipment is operational, safe, and properly maintained.
• Monitor and control operational expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities while ensuring the shop remains within budget.
 • Ensure the machine shop complies with all safety regulations and best practices, fostering a safe work environment for all employees.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, implementing lean manufacturing principles and identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of 5 years’ operating CNC machines
  • The ability to operate CNC machines safely and productively
  • Ability to work with level above and other departments to complete RCCA (Root Cause Correction Action) quality and safety related issues
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, run dept Tier 1 meeting, prioritize workflow, manage staff while solving day-to-day issues
  • Experience using SAP or related ERP systems
