We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Structural Steel Project Manager to lead our projects with expertise and precision. This key role demands a professional with a robust background in estimating and field operations within the structural and miscellaneous steel industry. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of construction processes, exceptional analytical abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing projects from inception to completion.

As the Structural Steel PM, you will act as the primary liaison between the company, clients, and construction teams, fostering clear communication and collaboration. You will champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance and proactively addressing challenges to maintain project timelines and budgets. This position grants you the authority to make critical decisions regarding cost, schedule, and on-site operations, directly influencing project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating:

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous steel projects.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bids.
  • Develop detailed material, labor, and equipment cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability of materials.
  • Set up and implement job procedures and techniques to assure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage project schedules and resource allocation, addressing any delays or issues promptly to keep the project on track
  • Monitor safety and compliance on-site, implementing safety protocols and ensuring all work meets regulatory and company standards

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of steel construction projects.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.

Field Experience:

  • Provide hands-on leadership and supervision at construction sites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and field crews.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed daily reports of work activities, progress, and any issues encountered.

Client Relations:

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction with the project.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel and miscellaneous steel estimating and field operations.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel design, fabrication, and erection processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a construction site environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
