Purpose of Position  

The Sales/Marketing + Events Manager (mostly sales and marketing with a touch of events) is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting effective sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue and occupancy for The Prospect, with a focus on rooms nights, F&B and events revenue, as well as the properties main point of contact for VIP guests and events.  

Position Overview  

The Sales/Marketing + Events Manager is a dynamic position at The Prospect which requires an individual to oversee multiple aspects of both sales and marketing. You are the properties main point of contact with our two luxury travel provider partners, and act as the initial point of contact for all potential property events, weddings and/or buyouts. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with a passion for hospitality and a proven track record of success in the hospitality industry.  

Knowledge of the Berkshires and the surrounding travel market and drivers is a key asset. In addition to creating traditional S&M strategies, the S&M Manager may also be asked to oversee some aspects of our digital SEO, SEM, our social media accounts, once this responsibility is no longer with our 3 rd party vendor.  

 

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities + Position Expectations  

  Sales & Revenue Management:   


  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and occupancy goals.  


  • Manage all aspects of the hotel's sales efforts, including direct sales, online channels, and travel agent relationships.  


  • Negotiate and secure group bookings, buyouts, weddings, co rporate accounts, and travel agent partnerships.  


  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new sales opportunities.  


  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR).  


  • Implement revenue management strategies, including dynamic pricing and inventory control.  


  • Act as point of contact for all site visits, FAM’s and potential buyout/group site tours  

  Marketing & Branding:   


  • Develop and execute creative marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive direct bookings.  


  • A ct as the main point of contact to the internal or external team members who provide services for PR, social media, branding/graphic design  


  • Support the management of the hotel's online presence, including website, social media channels, and online travel agencies (OTAs).  


  • Create compelling marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, and email campaigns.  


  • Manage public relations and media relations activities.  


  • Plan and execute special events and promotions to attract guests.  

  Guest Relations:   


  • Build strong relationships with guests and ensure their satisfaction.  


  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.  


  • Always provide exceptional customer service.  

Team Leadership:   


  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and marketing team.  


  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members are meeting their goals.  


  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.  

 

Qualifications  


  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.  


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel sales and marketing.  


  • Proven track record of success in achieving sales and revenue goals.  


  • Strong understanding of the hospitality industry and competitive landscape.  


  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.  


  • Previous Berkshires area sales and marketing experience at a similar level property, preferred but not required.  


  • Proficiency in using property management systems (PMS), customer relationship management (CRM) software, and social media platforms.  


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  


  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Salary based on experience
