Job Description
Alisal, a luxury 10,500 private acre working Ranch and Resort in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Ranch Hand to join our team.
This full-time position entails working all aspects of the Cattle Ranch operation, ranch duties and facilities, including basic plumbing, some construction work, and mechanical tasks, for example fence repair and construction, moving and operating irrigation in hay fields, operating farm and construction equipment, chainsaws, wood splitting, landscaping, mowing, and horse stall cleaning. This role will also perform any other ranch duties as required and assigned to serve the operations and needs of the property.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior Ranch Hand experience, 1-2 years.
• Basic plumbing, construction, and mechanical skills.
• Welding and cutting experience desired.
• Working knowledge handling beef cattle, horses and other farm animals.
• Experience driving a tractor and other farm equipment highly desired.
• Integrity, dependability, and adaptability.
• Skilled at multi-tasking, heightened attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and organization.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull minimum 50-100 lbs.
• Able to work on site and to stand, sit, walk, and move continuously for duration of shift.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to present proof of identity and legal right to work in the United States post offer, pre-employment.
• Must have valid CA Driver License to be covered by Alisal's fleet insurance
• Conditional offer subject to criminal background and DMV check.
• Open availability to accommodate varying schedules as well as able to work on weekends and holidays.
