PRIVATE CHEF

A multigenerational high-net-worth family on the East Coast is seeking an experienced private chef. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating exceptional meals using the freshest, highest quality ingredients, and will be able to work independently and manage all aspects of the household’s culinary needs. This unique opportunity affords the Chef to develop kitchen gardens with estate teams and be extremely creative.

Private Chef Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily meals for family members and guests, in accordance with the household’s preferences and dietary needs from an off-site chef’s kitchen
  • Plan and cater dinner parties and special events and be able to elevate fine dining at the highest level.
  • Produce small-batch meals with a wide variety of seasonal recipes, all made to order from scratch and hand-delivered to the household.
  • Grocery shop for all ingredients, ensuring the highest quality and freshness.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and all cooking equipment.
  • Ensure proper food storage and handling to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Coordinate with other household staff to ensure smooth and seamless service
  • Manage special requests and cater to individual preferences of the household members.
  • Provide exceptional service, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all mealtimes.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe kitchen environment.
  • Track preferences, create rotating menu offerings and elicit feedback in order to improve.

Private Chef Requirements:

  • Five or more years of experience as a private chef in a private residence
  • Must be flexible and able to work in two locations portions of the year
  • Culinary school degree or certificate from an accredited institution preferred
  • Strong knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and dietary restrictions.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and computer skills.
  • Passion for lifelong learning and professional development
  • Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of the household’s culinary needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with other household staff.
  • Professional and discreet demeanor.
  • Flexibility in scheduling (holidays included) to accommodate the household’s needs.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment requirements
  • Not eligible for Visa sponsorship at this time.
