Preparation and prosecution of life sciences and medical patents, strategic patent portfolio management, client counseling and opinions regarding patentability, infringement, and validity. Here, you will have direct client interaction wherein good client management and communication skills be valued.
The primary responsibilities will pertain to preparing and prosecuting US patents, however, experience dealing with foreign associate drafting instructions pertaining to non-US patent applications would be a plus. Must have a minimum of an M.S. in a biotechnology field is required (biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, bioengineering, etc.).
Strong preference for someone with at least 1-2 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications, ideally with specif patent experience relating to proteins and antibodies. A USPTO license as an agent or attorney is required. Portfolio and overall client responsibility will grow and be commensurate with ability.
This is a virtual office scenario, thus the person should be a self starter. An entrepreneurial nature would be a good fit, as there is plenty of work here, but there are also incentives for client development. Ideally, the person will be in the Eastern US Time Zone, or European Time Zone.
