Position Overview: Athra Systems is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide consultative psychiatric services within an acute care hospital setting in the Phoenix metro area. This hybrid role combines in-person coverage at our Chandler, AZ facility with remote telehealth consults to support additional locations as needed. The ideal candidate will be an experienced psychiatric provider who thrives in a dynamic hospital environment and is comfortable managing diverse patient needs.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide psychiatric consultative services within acute care hospital settings, including assessments, treatment planning, and medication management.
- Deliver evidence-based psychiatric care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises, substance use disorders, and complex comorbidities.
- Work collaboratively with hospitalists, medical teams, and behavioral health staff to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.
- Provide telepsychiatry services as needed to support additional consultative sites within the region.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and state/federal regulations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultations to optimize treatment plans.
- Adapt to various clinical settings, including medical floors, emergency departments, and intensive care units.
Qualifications: - Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Active Arizona APRN license (or ability to obtain before start date)
- DEA license with prescriptive authority in Arizona
- MUST be able to report to facility three days per week with two remaining days each week telehealth setting
- Experience in consultative psychiatry or hospital-based psychiatric services preferred
- Comfortable working in an acute care hospital environment
- Strong ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Multistate licensure a plus for providing telehealth services across multiple locations
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation
