Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Wi-Fi Test Engineer to join our team, with a focus on all aspects of testing pioneering networking products. This role will involve testing Wi-Fi protocols, crafting, implementing, and automating test cases for various Wi-Fi solutions, including routers, extenders, and mesh networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test plans for Wi-Fi routers, extenders, and mesh networking solutions, ensuring high-quality performance and reliability.
  • Perform functional, performance, and stress testing to evaluate Wi-Fi range, efficiency, and reliability across various conditions.
  • Test and optimize Wi-Fi roaming performance using protocols like 802.11k and 802.11v to ensure flawless device handoff.
  • Conduct detailed testing and analysis of Wi-Fi extenders, focusing on coverage optimization, latency, and backhaul performance.
  • Apply Wi-Fi testing tools (Wireshark, iperf, etc.) to collect and analyze network performance and integrate Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 advancements into standard testing processes.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of Wi-Fi solutions with evolving industry standards.

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience working with Wi-Fi routers, extenders, and mesh networking solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with 802.11 Wi-Fi standards, RF fundamentals, and wireless security protocols (including standards, security, functional testing, and performance testing).
  • Strong proficiency in network debugging, packet analysis, and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven experience as a technical lead with hands-on involvement in testing activities.
  • Expertise in test automation using Python, shell scripting, or similar tools.
  • Experience in developing and performing test strategies, including both automated and manual testing.
  • Basic knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, RADIUS, etc.
  • Experience with band steering and cloud-managed Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Experience with roaming protocols like 802.11 KVR and AP/Extender configuration.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard Wi-Fi test tools (e.g., VeriWave, IXIA Chariot, Alethea, Spirent) and packet debuggers like Wireshark and OmniPeek.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both offshore and onshore teams.
  • Experience in performing stress testing is highly desired.
