SLAC Job Postings Position overview: SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory's Office of Technology Transfer & Strategic Partnerships (TT&SP) has an internship opportunity for individuals with strong business and/or technical backgrounds who are passionate about technology commercialization and innovation. The TT&SP office is responsible for developing relationships with industry and other government agencies to better bridge the gap between scientific discoveries and their practical applications. As one of 17 Department of Energy national laboratories, SLAC is dedicated to conducting research and developing technologies in support of national priorities.
This position reports to the Technology Transfer Manager and aims to build a sustainable pipeline for technology commercialization. The intern(s) will work directly with researchers and TT&SP staff to assess technologies and create an inventory of commercialization-ready projects across SLAC's research portfolio
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Collaborate with SLAC researchers to identify and evaluate research projects with commercial potential
- Apply market-driven evaluation criteria to assess technology readiness and commercial viability
- Create and maintain a comprehensive technology inventory using a scorecard evaluation system
- Support the development of commercialization strategies for promising technologies
- Assist in organizing commercialization seminars featuring Silicon Valley investors and entrepreneurs
- Help prepare technology assessment reports and presentations
- Support documentation and tracking of project outcomes

Note : This is an hourly, non-benefits eligible temporary-nonexempt, summer internship position (work at 50% full-time equivalent or more) , not to exceed 980 hours in a calendar year. Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age, currently enrolled in an educational program or recently graduated, and have US work authorization. The program duration is 12 weeks and is full-time on-site. Hours are estimated to be 40 hours per week.
SLAC is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) laboratory operated by Stanford University and based in Menlo Park, CA.
To be successful in this position you will bring: - Currently enrolled in final year of study in undergraduate science, engineering, or business program or enrolled in graduate program
- Demonstrated interest in technology commercialization or entrepreneurship

The expected pay range for this position is $25.41 - $29.73 per hour. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
