RECONN is a leader in the utility industry, concentrating on quality and safety. We have full-time Gas Service Technician positions available in Cicero, Syracuse, & Brewerton, NY. The starting pay for this position is $21.00 per hour . An additional $5/hr , after training, will be provided for use of personal vehicle ($21/hr. +$5/hr.) Must have a reliable vehicle and insurance.

Your Responsibilities as a Gas Service Tech

• ​​​​​​​​​​Responsible for repairing paint coatings on affected pipes
• Responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion. This includes visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork/data are completed
• Report to the respective work area on time at the start of each shift
• Responsible for identifying any abnormal operating conditions on-site
• Accurately filling out all forms associated with the inspection visit (form may be electronic or paper)

What We Need from You (Our Requirements):

• Proficient at using current technology: smartphone, tablet
• Can communicate in an effective manner in a one-on-one setting and while addressing a group
• Able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Comfortable with working overtime and weekends (as needed)
• Pass a drug screen
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Work well within a group, as well as individually
• Able to use simple hand tools and read utility maps
• Must have a reliable, insured vehicle for daily use on the job
