EHS Manager Location: Carlisle Architectural Metals Manufacturing Facility, Waukesha, WI
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (occasional overtime and weekends as needed)
Position Summary: The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs at the Carlisle Architectural Metals (CAM) manufacturing facility in Waukesha, WI. This role works closely with site leadership, business unit directors, and the business unit EHS Manager to ensure compliance, prevent workplace injuries, and drive a culture of safety. The EHS Manager will lead initiatives focused on hazard prevention, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of safety practices.
Key Responsibilities: - Serve as the primary safety advisor for site leadership, supervisors, safety committees, and employees.
- Collaborate with CAM Regional Safety Specialists and the Divisional EHS Manager to implement corporate safety strategies.
- Support the plant manager in strategic planning, including analyzing safety data and problem-solving.
- Act as a behavior-based safety coach and mentor, promoting a proactive safety mindset.
- Develop, implement, and maintain site safety plans, EHS standard work, and company-wide safety programs.
- Conduct and oversee safety assessments, including PPE evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and policy audits.
- Lead and manage environmental, health, and safety projects throughout the facility.
- Review and update safety policies and procedures to comply with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Organize and deliver safety training, onboarding, mentoring, and behavior-based safety observations.
- Maintain OSHA compliance, including tracking and reporting OSHA recordable incidents and managing OSHA 300 logs.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementations.
- Manage EHS digital platforms, including Gensuite, and oversee EHS ISO programs (ISO 14001).
- Serve as the liaison between management and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Oversee hazardous material storage and ensure safety inspections are conducted and documented.
- Chair the facility's safety committee and participate in management team meetings.
- Maintain accurate safety training records, workplace inspections, and corrective actions.
Required Qualifications: - Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of three years in a safety-related role within a manufacturing environment
- Certifications: First Aid/CPR/AED certification required
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in computer operations and basic mathematics
- Familiarity with SAP, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols
- Knowledge of quality control processes
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate's or Technical College Degree in a related field
Working Conditions: - Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to dust, dirt, and temperature variations.
- Primarily Monday - Friday schedule, with occasional overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Limited travel for meetings or training sessions.
