About the role: Owkin is seeking a Director, Commercial Sales to join our fast-growing and dynamic team based in NYC and Boston, with the opportunity to grow our business with pharmaceutical companies by generating new leads, managing key accounts, and contributing to the go-to-market strategy of the company. As a Director, Commercial Sales, you will directly manage your book of work with your key clients and be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities with an eye on long-term renewable business with said clients. You will be instrumental in creating awareness of Owkin’s differentiated data and state-of-the art technology, using AI and machine learning to enhance and accelerate R&D, Market access and commercial activities in Pharma. The role reports directly to the SVP, Head of Commercial, and will be a part of the global sales team. The position will require intimate cross team collaboration with our Platform, R&Tech, Legal, Operations and Corporate Development and Strategy teams. In particular, you will: Engage major pharmaceutical clients across multiple stakeholding groups including but not limited to C-Suite executives, therapeutic leadership teams, bioinformatics, translational research, IT, Real World Evidence, procurement, R&D, HEOR and data science teams. Secure strategic new business while growing existing accounts. Engage the market with Real World Evidence, data access, AI and predictive analytic concepts which are pushing the current frameworks of medical research and will drive significant changes in clinical processes. Play a significant role in helping to scale the company and deploy world class commercial sales solutions, and define the market positioning. This position is based on the East Coast of the US, either remotely (from DC to Boston) or in our NY or Boston offices. About you We are looking for someone with: Proven commercial success selling into the Pharmaceutical / Biotech industry, with significant achievements and relevant network. Demonstrated experience in closing high value and complex technology, diagnostics, data, clinical trials and/or service sales to the pharmaceutical industry. A University Degree with strong scientific and technical/IT background, preferably a Masters/PhD degree in the Sciences or IT/Technology (Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, HEOR, Genetics, Oncology, Statistics, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, etc) or a scientific qualification, augmented with an MBA. A significant and relevant network across the R&D/ Drug Development industry and can develop consultative relationships that turn into ROI and become valued repeat customers. Great Owkinaute’s also possess a good sense of humor, integrity and professionalism. An excellent level of English language, with high levels of verbal communication and writing skills. Computer literacy (Google suite, Slack, Salesforce). Ideally, experience of working in a PE or VC backed start-up company environment where thinking outside the box while supporting it to scale are key ingredients to success. Pay Transparency The OTE compensation range for this role in the USA is $187,000 - $250,000 comprising base salary and performance-based bonus plus an equity option scheme, individual and family health insurance, 401k retirement, generous annual leave allowance of 35 days (in addition to any State or Federal recognised holidays) and flexible spending accounts. Individual compensation packages will vary based on factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, assessed through the interview process.
