Ameritas is seeking an Cybers ecurity Intern to drive the business by delivery of IT security services or functions. This position would perform all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. This internship will start either in December 2024 or May 2025 depending on availability. This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home. What you do Assist Enterprise Security in the various areas of responsibility the department is charged with: Security Engineering Manage, maintain, and monitor the organizations security tooling Analyze and implement security controls in various environments Vulnerability Management Identifying, assessing, reporting on, and managing vulnerabilities across the organization Preparing reports that document vulnerability trends within the organization Security Operations Monitoring and responding to security incidents Analyzing logs and other data sources to identify potential threats Automating security improvements Risk Management Identifying, analyzing, and evaluating risks Monitoring and responding to security requests What you bring Actively enrolled in an Information Technology or Information Security degree program at least part-time Able to fulfill a year-round commitment part-time (PT) during the academic school year and full-time (FT) during the summer PT includes 10-20 hours a week FT includes 30-40 hours a week Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Desire to learn and grow Effective documentation skill for process and standard development Excellent communication skills and ability to work with others Familiarity with programming or scripting languages strongly desired This internship is benefits ineligible.
