About the Role: Full-Time Sous Chef

The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the culinary operations at Ashland Hills F&B, ensuring that our fine dining experience meets the highest standards of quality and creativity. This position involves collaborating closely with the Executive Chef to develop innovative menus that highlight Italian cuisine while adhering to seasonal availability and customer preferences. The Sous Chef will oversee food preparation and presentation, ensuring that all dishes are executed flawlessly and in accordance with our hygiene and safety standards. Additionally, this role includes training and mentoring kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Ultimately, the Sous Chef is responsible for maintaining the kitchen's operational excellence and contributing to the overall success of our dining establishment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and culinary techniques.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Must have Food Handlers Permit.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in menu planning and development.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a kitchen setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu development and recipe creation, focusing on Italian cuisine.
  • Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and presentation meet established standards.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting best practices in food preparation and hygiene.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and available.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
