LaSalle Network is seeking an experienced
AutoCAD Drafter to join our client's architectural construction and acoustic engineering team in Lake Forest, IL. This role is responsible for creating 2D and 3D CAD designs for custom-engineered acoustic panels, doors, windows, closures, and noise control solutions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and capable of working independently while collaborating with internal teams to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of drafting and design work. AutoCAD Drafter Responsibilities: - Develop 2D and 3D CAD designs for NBL projects using AutoCAD
- Create detailed subcomponent drawing s for manufacturing, ensuring specifications and compliance
- Review project scope and design requirements with Project Leads and Sales Teams
- Coordinate with Project Management to ensure timely and accurate submission of drawings, revisions, and submittals for production
- Generate and maintain bills of material (BOMs) for new projects released to manufacturing
- Perform quality control checks on drawings and BOMs to ensure accuracy before production release
- Communicate and coordinate design changes with internal teams, including Sales and Production, to ensure projects ship with correct ‘As Built’ drawings
- Support new product development initiatives by contributing design expertise to engineering solutions
AutoCAD Drafter Requirements: - 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD for drafting and design
- SolidWorks experience is a plus
- Prior experience in architectural or mechanical drafting is preferred
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, manufacturing processes, and engineering specifications
- Ability to quickly learn and work on custom designs across various industries, including concert halls, industrial noise control, and commercial acoustics
- Must be detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of problem-solving independently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in complex designs
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team of six designers in a structured environment
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to highly customized designs, as 95% of projects are unique and tailored to customer needs
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate effectively across departments
- Comfortable in a quiet, focused work environment while handling multiple projects efficiently
